EBACE 2025: A New Chapter for European Business Aviation

From May 20th to 22nd, 2025, Geneva hosted the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE25) at the Palexpo exhibition center, ushering in a phase of revitalization and transformation under the exclusive direction of the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA). This edition differed from previous ones for several strategic choices: there was no static aircraft display (traditionally a key aspect of the event), while networking, quality content, and innovative formats were emphasized.

The Organizational Transition

Until 2024, EBACE was jointly organized by NBAA (the US National Business Aviation Association) and EBAA (European Business Aviation Association). Starting in 2025, EBAA took over full management, with the aim of reshaping the event’s format to better meet the industry’s current needs. This decision led to a redefinition of the offering: less visual spectacle and more substance in content and opportunities for interaction.

One of the most notable changes was the absence of a static aircraft display, some interpreted this as a bold bet on content rather than the symbolism of the object itself. In a statement, the EBAA explained that this decision is part of a “transition year” to rethink the event’s structure, focusing on the added value of interactions and knowledge rather than mere static displays.

A large portion of EBACE25 guests were disappointed by the lack of a static display, as it made it impossible to evaluate the business aviation industry’s proposals directly on the aircraft.

Conferences and Innovation

The heart of the event, this year, was the conference program, including the “Innovation Stage,” which hosted discussions on advanced mobility, hybrid-electric systems, future infrastructure, and aviation market strategy.Sessions such as “Hybrid-Electric: A Scalable Solution for Business Aviation” and “Reinventing Air Charter: What’s Next?” demonstrated how sustainability and technological transformation are becoming increasingly important in the industry.
AIROPS event (dedicated to air and ground operators) was directly integrated into EBACE25 to offer a more comprehensive approach to operational issues.

Networking and dedicated spaces

The reorganization of the layout included lounges and areas dedicated to networking, with the aim of encouraging meetings between companies, innovators, and investors.
“Welcome Celebration”, the opening evening, provided an icebreaker with music and informal conversations, reinforcing the “business + relationships” nature of the event.

Regulatory challenges and sustainability

The topic of ReFuelEU Aviation, with its relevance for operational compliance and implications for fuel costs, was one of the most debated topics from day one. Participants also addressed tensions related to European regulation, competitiveness, and public pressure on the private aviation sector.

Players and Absences

The absence of many OEMs (aircraft manufacturers) was noted by observers, likely due to the reduced appeal of the lack of a static exhibition. One exception was the manufacturer Leonardo, which maintained a certain presence.
Several post-event analyses highlighted that, despite being more “content-centric” and less flashy, EBACE25 maintained a good level of quality in its meetings and discussions.
However, the question of how to regain its appeal for high-profile exhibitors and visitors remains open. Some commentators believe that the event’s future will depend on the balance between substance and spectacle.

Looking to the future: what happens after EBACE25

Return of the static exhibition in 2026, the EBAA has already announced that the static exhibition will return in 2026, and that the Geneva venue will resume its role as EBACE’s “permanent home” in even-numbered years. A new “alternation” model has been presented: in odd-numbered years, EBACE could move to other European cities, expanding its reach and reaching new markets.
Organizers are considering cities such as Barcelona, Frankfurt, Milan, Paris, Vienna, and Dublin as potential future venues.

To ensure the event continues to deliver for exhibitors and attendees, EBAA is introducing the EBACE Advisory Council, an invitation-only group of key industry stakeholders. The council will guide improvements in areas such as static display set-up, privacy and security, cost sensitivity and international benchmarks, whilst supporting the creation of selective, high-quality events designed to enhance the overall experience.

EBACE Goes to Europe 2027

Looking ahead, the council will also contribute to “EBACE Goes to Europe 2027”, the first edition to take the show on the road. Future locations will be selected to reflect Europe’s diversity and address the regional regulatory and operational differences that shape the business aviation landscape, with Geneva remaining the event’s anchor. The updated format will also expand EBACE’s reach by welcoming industries that naturally complement business aviation. These close connections will add new dimensions to the show and allow for effortless collaboration, enhancing the experience for all participants and keeping business aviation firmly at the centre.

EBACE26 will take place at Palexpo, Geneva (Switzerland) 27th till 29th May 2026. Best Shot Aircraft Team will be present even for 2026.
